Soléna ‘Domaine Danielle Laurent’ Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from USA
Review Date : 02-Aug-2013
Dark, deep ruby-red with slight purple hues. The nose is a little locked up and subdued, but densely packed and well-concentrated, with aromas of dark red berry fruits, savoury herbs and oak elements. Solid and densely weighted on palate, brackish and raw flavours of dark fruits, herbs and stalk intermingle with raspberry and liqueur notes. The acidity is slightly brash, but there is power and underlying richness providing excellent drive. The extraction is balanced and provided supporting structure and balance. "Big is beautiful", this will become rounder and should develop well, over 5-6+ years. Pommard and Dijon clones 115, 667, 777 and 828, Yamhill-Carlton AVA, destemmed, given cold soak and fermented to 13.6% alc., the wine aged 13 months in 37% new French oak. 480 cases made. 18.5/20 Jul 2013 RRP USD $50.00
