SOHO ‘White Collection’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Oct-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour, nearly clear on rim. The nose is light and tightly bound with aromas of fresh gooseberries entwined with subtle passionfruit aromas, showing good depth. Dry to taste and elegant in proportion, the flavours of gooseberries and passionfruit are light and restrained and carried by a delicate phenolic, textural line. The mouthfeel is dry and thirst-quenching, with crisp acidity adding some zestiness and drive. The palate leads to a softly nuanced finish with passionfruit notes. This is a tight and elegant, dry Sauvignon Blanc with light gooseberry flavours. Match with seafood, especially shellfish, over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Wairau Valley cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 3.5 g/L RS. This is the second bottling. 16.5/20 Oct 2013 RRP $20.00 Bright, pale straw colour with slight green hues. The nose is light and fine with fresh aromas of gooseberries, grass and passionfruit, well balanced and harmonious in expression. Dry to taste and light-bodied, tightly constrained flavours of gooseberries intermingle with passionfruit of a soft-textured palate. The acidity is racy and mouthwatering, providing a slippery mouthfeel. Pungent tropical fruit flavours grow, leading to a long and dry finish. This is a light, thirst-quenching Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry and passionfruit flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years.
