SOHO ‘White Collection’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Jul-2016
Even, moderately deep ruby-red colour, lighter on the rim. This has a oftly full and gentle nose with light aromas of red berry fruits entwined with dark herbs and nuances of bacon-like and slightly resinous oak, unfolding liquorice and red floral notes in the glass. Medium-full bodied, the palate is slender in presentation with light, bright and juicy red berry fruit flavours and red florals enlivened by refreshing acidity. The flavours are complexed by liquorice and bacony oak. The mouthfeel is brisk and crisp with plenty of acidity and the palate flows along a light, extracted line with a core of dark herbs, leading to a long, sweet-fruited finish. This is a crisp and racy, dlender Pinot Noir with sweet fruit, liquorice, herb and bacony oak flavours. Serve with barbecued poultry dishes over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the SOHO ‘Yarrum vineyard in the Southern Valleys and from the ‘Clifford’ vineyard, upper Wairau Valley, fermented to 13.0% alc., 15% by indigenous yeasts with 5% whole bunches the wine aged 10 months in 5% new and seasoned French oak from ‘Havana’ barrels. 16.5/20 Jul 2016 RRP $25.00
