SOHO ‘White Collection’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Jun-2015
Even, dark ruby-red colour, with some lighter garnet hues on rim. This is open and elegantly expressed on the nose with harmoniously aromas of dark red berry fruit infused with dark herbs, oak and spice elements, revealing fruit-cake and earthy interest, and floral fragrances with time in the glass. Medium-bodied and elegantly proportioned, the palate features fresh and lively soft red berry fruit flavours, along with subtle dark herb and spicy notes. Some earthy hints and nutty oak shows, and the wine is seamlessly interwoven. The fruitiness is up-front and enlivened by fresh acidity, and supported by modest extraction, providing soft textures that carries the wine to a lingering finish of red fruits and spices. This is a soft, elegant, spicy red fruited Pinot Noir with a fresh, lively mouthfeel. Serve with antipasto, charcuterie and poultry over the next 3+ years. Fruit from SOHO’s ‘Yarrum’ Southern Valleys and the ‘Clifford’ Awatere Valley vineyard, partially hand-picked and fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged in new and seasoned French oak. 17.0/20 Jun 2015 RRP $26.00
