SOHO ‘White Collection’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Apr-2014
Hand-picked and machine harvested Pinot Noir fruit from the Southern Valleys, fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged in new and seasoned French oak. Moderately deep, dark ruby-red colour with some light purple hues on rim. The nose is full of fresh, ripe dark raspberry and black cherry fruit aromas, harmoniously packed with subtle red liquorice, confectionary and jam-like notes from whole berry fermentation. Medium-bodied, full and fleshy flavours of juicy dark cherry fruit flavours show confectionary, dark herb and floral notes. Some liquorice and mineral elements emerge to provide an array of nuance. Soft, grainy tannins and textures carry the flavours with good acid energy to a fruity, dry finish with good length. This is a full, fleshy and juicy up-front Pinot Noir with good grainy structure. Match with pasta, poultry and pork over the next 3-4 years. 17.5/20 Apr 2014 RRP $27.00
