SOHO ‘White Collection’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Aug-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour with a suggestion of blush, light on edge. The nose is soft with light and gentle ethereal aromatics of white stonefruits, florals and honeysuckle that grow in volume and depth, revealing a steely, minerally edge. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, light, sweet and juicy fruit flavours of stonefruits are enhanced by nuances of floral and honeysuckle detail, along with some fresh fermentation esters. The palate follows a fine-textured phenolic line with good acidity and energy, carrying through to a light, refreshing finish. This is a light and balanced off-dry Pinot Gris with subtle fruit flavours and fine textures. Serve as an aperitif, with poultry and with Asian fare over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the Awatere and from the Southern Valleys, cool-fermented to 12.9% alc. and 6 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Aug 2014 RRP $20.00
