SOHO ‘White Collection’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Oct-2012
100% Pinot Gris predominantly from the Awatere Valley with some Wairau Valley fruit, fermented to 13.8% alc. and 6 g/L rs. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The bouquet is clean, light and fresh with aromas of white and yellow stonefruit, pears, herbs and honeysuckle along with some lifted esters. Dryish to taste, and medium-bodied, the fruit is initially shy, with crisp, lacy acidity and fine textures prevailing, building with presence, the palate becoming rounded in mouthfeel and driven in line. Succulent spiced pear and honey flavours emerge to show with richness and length. This is a Pinot Gris that becomes richer in the glass. Match with Asian cuisine over the next 3-4 years. 17.5+/20 Oct 2012 RRP $19.99
