SOHO ‘’Westwood’ Waiheke Island Rosé 2018

Rose from New Zealand - Northland & Auckland
Review Date : 27-Nov-2018
Bright, very pale candy-floss pink with slight peach hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh with softly concentrated aromas of strawberries, with delicate notes of redcurrants and stonefruits, along with lifted red florals and mouthwatering minerals. This has delicacy with an attractive array of fragrant detail. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has aromatic flavours of strawberries and cream with hints of redcurrants and fragrant red florals, along with subtle thirst-quenching mineral elements. The fruit is rich and the palate has sweetness, but is balanced by crisp, lively acidity. The wine flows along a very fine-textured line, leading to a very long, nuanced finish with fragrant florals. This is a beautifully fine and aromatic dry rosé with flavours of strawberries and cream and mouthwatering minerals on a very fine-textured, refreshing palate. Match with dim sum and Asian fare over the next 2 years. Predominantly Merlot fruit with small portion of Malbec from the ’Jomara’ vineyard, Waiheke Island, cool-fermented fermented in tank to 12.5% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS. Winemaker: James Rowan. 18.5/20 Nov 2018 RRP $25.00
