Soho Westwood Rosé 2020, Waiheke Island

Rosé from New Zealand - Northland & Auckland
Review Date : 29-Sep-2020
Bright, pale ruby-red with a neon-shade, even colour throughout. The bouquet has a rich tone of deeper florals, unfolding ripe field strawberries, cherries flavoured boiled sweets note. Medium-bodied, dry-ish to taste, ripe field strawberries, cherries have a good core, along with lemon sherbet, rose petals and delicate spices linger to a textural finish. The mouthfeel is opulent, very fine phenolic grip on a smooth flow with vibrant acidity. This is a medium-bodied rosé with lush red fruit, lively acidity on a textural palate. Match with smoked venison carpaccio and cured meat over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from Carter’s Jomara Vineyard, Onetangi. 13% alc. 18/20 pts Sept RRP $28
