SOHO ‘Stella’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Sep-2016
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with light green hues, very light edged. This has a soft and gently voluminous nose with finely concentrated aromas of ripe passionfruit and subtle tropical fruit notes, and piquant fresh herbs unfolding nuances of cut grass. The aromatics are very harmonious in presentation. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is gently sweet and rich with a core of passionfruit and tropical fruit flavours, along with lifted herbal detail that unfolds to fill the mouth. This combines rich and sweet fruit with refreshing, mouthwatering, lacy acidity, and the wine flows along a very fine-textured line with good poise and tension. The wine carries to a long, sustained finish of sweet passionfruit. This is a softly rich and succulent, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with fresh acidity, refined textures and a lingering finish. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables, and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Awatere Valley, Lower Wairau, Southern Valleys and Upper Wairau, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 2.7 g/L RS. 18.5-/20 Sep 2016 RRP $25.00
