SOHO ‘Stella’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Oct-2012
Fruit from 4 sites in the Awatere, Southern Valleys and Wairau Valley sub-regions, cool-fermented to 13.3% alc. and 3.0 g/L rs. Brilliant, even, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. This has an elegantly proportioned, but concentrated bouquet with interwoven layers of passionfruit, gooseberries and minerals, revealing tropical fruit elements. Dry to taste, a deep core of ripe passionfruit and gooseberry flavours provide the palate with weight and are driven on a fine-textured line, supported by bright, brisk acidity. This has excellent balance and is mouthfilling and lively, and the flavours flow to a long fingering finish with pungent passionfruit notes. This is a classical Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with concentration, balance and drive. Serve with Mediterranean cuisine over the next 2-3 years. 18.5-/20 Oct 2012 RRP $23.99
