SOHO ‘McQueen’ Central Otago Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 10-Aug-2015
Very dark, black-hued ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, a little lighter on rim. The nose is elegantly proportioned with intense aromas of black cherry and black berried fruits with refined black and violet floral lift, entwined with thyme herb nuances. The aromatics are fresh, pure and poised, unfolding delicate liquorice and plum elements, and reduction with a little oak char. Medium-full bodied, the palate features an elegantly concentrated and tightly bound core of ripe black cherry, berry and floral fruit flavours, complexed by thyme herb notes. Refined tannins provide a sleek, flowing, linear mouthfeel and fresh, balanced acidity lends poise and liveliness. This is harmonious in intensity and linearity, and the wine leads to a concentrated, refined, lingering finish of black fruits. This is an elegant and refined Pinot Noir with black cherry fruit, lifted florals and a poised and fresh mouthfeel. Serve with poultry and pork dishes over the next 5-6+ years. 100% hand-picked fruit, 50% Bendigo, 35% Gibbston and 15% Bannockburn, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in French oak. 18.5-/20 Aug 2015 RRP $50.00
