SOHO Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Jun-2011
Winemaker Dave Clouston. Fruit from the company's ‘Yarrum' vineyard in the Brancott Valley fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 33% new French oak barrels. Dark, deep, purple-hued ruby-red colour, youthful in appearance, this has a full, solidly deep nose of ripe, dark, berry fruits and spicy plums, with floral, violet notes, black ink and oak. On palate, there are concentrated, lusciously juicy flavours of black berry fruits and plums with exotic notes of Asian spices are lifted by oak shine. Silky tannins and fine acidity complete the wine, which should unfold and reveal its depth over the next 5-7 years. Match with rich Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine. 18.0/20 Jun 2011 RRP $33.99
