SOHO ‘Maren’ Marlborough Riesling 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Sep-2015
Fruit from a single vineyard in Omaka in the Southern Valleys, cool-fermented to 11.6% alc. and 16 g/L RS. Bright, pale straw yellow colour with lemon-green hues. The nose is elegant and slender with tightly bound and delicate aromas of lime fruit entwined with white florals and thirst-quenching minerals. The aromatics are pure and expressed with finesse and detail. Medium-dry to taste, the palate features delicate and subtly interwoven flavours of white florals limes and minerals, unveiling nuances of apples, rainwater, and honeysuckle. The mouthfeel is juicy with fruit sweetness and mouthwatering, soft, and ripe acidity. The wine flows easily with gentle energy and tension, leading to a long and sustained, dry, minerally finish. This is a delicate, medium-dry Riesling with florals and limes, and a soft, mouthwatering palate. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and Asian fare over the next 5 years. 18.5+/20 Sep 2015 RRP $26.00
