SOHO ‘Maren’ Marlborough Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 17-Oct-2014
Bright, even, light straw-yellow colour. This is very elegant and refined on nose, with tightly bound and delicate aromas of lime fruit, white florals minerals and some exotic musky nuances. Off-dry to taste, the palate features a very refined, tightly concentrated core of lime and lemonade fruit flavours along with exotic florals and a hint of musk. The mouthfeel is seamless and smooth and the wine flows with excellent energy and drive, providing focus and linearity. Fine, soft, mouthwatering acidity supports the fruit and balances the sweet fruit notes, carrying the wine to a very long, sustained, pure finish with lime and floral nuances. This is a beautifully refined, seamless, thirst-quenching, off-dry Riesling with lime and floral flavours and exotic musk hints. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and fine Asian fare over the next 5-6+ years. A single vineyard wine from the Southern Valleys, cool-fermented to 11.6% alc., 11 g/L RS, TA 7.4 g/L and pH 2.86. 18.5/20 Oct 2014 RRP $26.00
