Soho Jagger Pinot Gris 2020, Marlborough

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 29-Sep-2020
Bright, straw-yellow with some depth, slightly watery clear on the rim. The bouquet is elegantly full, fragrant aromas of Nashi pear, quince, entwined with mouthwatering minerals and delicate white florals. Medium-bodied, dry-ish to taste, Nashi pear, quince and apple skins form a good core. Fragrant white florals unfolding, along with spices and mouthwatering minerals lingers to a satisfying dry finish. Fine-textured phenolic added to the slightly unctuous palate provided breath and body. Fresh acidity contributed good energy and balance, drive the wine to a lingering textural finish. This is an elegantly full-flavoured Pinot Gris with good acid balance and a textural mouthfeel. Match with pulled pork and smoked duck breast over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from Wairau and Awetere Valley. 13% alc. Vegan friendly. 18.5/20 pts Sept 2020 RRP $25
