SOHO ‘Jagger’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2018

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Nov-2018
Bright, pale straw colour with slight green hues, lighter edged. The nose is elegantly concentrated and well-packed with a rounded core of white and yellow stonefruits entwined with fragrant floral notes, revealing pears and a little honeysuckle. The aromatics blossom with aeration. Dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has a rich, rounded and concentrated heart of white and yellow stonefruits melded with exotic florals, aromatic pear and honeysuckle notes and delicate lifted fermentation esters. The palate has richness and lusciousness, and flows along a fine-textured line with soft acidity. The wine carries smoothly to a long and sustained, refined finish. This is a rich and rounded, but vibrant dryish Pinot Gris with exotic stonefruit, floral and pear fruit with some honeysuckle on a fine-textured palate with soft acidity. Serve with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 3-4 years. 100% Pinot Gris fruit predominantly from the Awatere Valley with some Southern Valleys fruit, fermented in tank to 13.5% alc. and 5 g/L RS, the wine spending 5 months on lees. 18.0+/20 Nov 2018 RRP $25.00
