SOHO ‘Jagger’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Sep-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues and a suggestion of blush. The nose is soft and gently full with good depth and concentration of yellow stonefruit aromas harmoniously entwined with yellow florals, subtle lifted rose-petal notes, a hint of honeysuckle with mineral nuances. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, fresh, bright and lively, aromatic fruit flavours of yellow stonefruits, exotic florals, honeysuckle with mineral nuances feature on the palate and blossom in richness. The fruit is underlined by very fine phenolic textures and crisp, lacy, refreshing acidity. The flavours recede a little as the wine carries to a crisp, fine-textured, dry finish with floral nuances. This is a gently rich, aromatic, dryish Pinot Gris with fine textures and fresh acidity. Match with Asian cuisine over the next 3 years. Fruit from the Awatere and Southern Valleys cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 5.3 g/L RS. 18.0+/20 Sep 2016 RRP $25.00
