SOHO ‘Jagger’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Sep-2015
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with a slight blush. The nose is full with good vinous presence and weight, showing concentrated aromas of pear fruit with lifted yellow florals, honeysuckle, delicate lifted esters, and nuances of nuts and minerals. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, softly concentrated and deep flavours of pears, yellow stonefruits, honeysuckle and florals are harmoniously interwoven, forming a positive core. The mouthfeel is even and balanced with very fine textures and fresh acidity alongside gently luscious and sweetly ripe fruit. The wine flows smoothly and effortlessly, carrying to a soft, dry finish with lifted florals and exotic fruit nuances. This is a harmonious and seamless dry Pinot Gris with gently rich, exotic fruit flavours. Serve with mildly spicy Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 3-4 years. Awatere and Southern Valleys fruit cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 6 g/L RS. 18.0/20 Sep 2015 RRP $26.00
