SOHO ‘Jagger’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Aug-2013
Hand-picked fruit from the Wairau and Awatere valleys, fermented with 10% in seasoned French oak to 13.5% alc. and 5.5 g/L RS. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with a faint suggestion of blush. The nose is finely presented and slender in proportion with good intensity of white stonefruit and florals, nuances of spice and a steely, flint note. Dryish to taste, pristine white floral and stonefruit flavours are lifted by esters and a little confectionary. The palate has a subtle sweetness and juiciness, enhanced by fine, lacy acidity. The mouthfeel is refined and refreshing, with good tension that drives the flavours to an elegant, soft finish. This is an elegant off-dry Pinot Gris with subtly rich, pure floral flavours. Serve with Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine over the next 3-4 years. 17.5/20 Aug 2013 RRP $27.00
