SOHO ‘Bobby’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Feb-2017
Ruby-red colour with some depth and lighter purple hues on the rim. The nose is fresh and youthful in expression, still a little raw and unsettled, showing bright, dark-red cherry fruit entwined with dark and fresh herbs and subtle nutty oak elements. Medium-bodied, fresh and crisp red cherry fruit feature on the palate along with subtle herbal notes. The fruit is moderately rich and the mouthfeel is enlivened by lacy acidity, with light, grainy tannin extraction in support, As the wine flows, the flavours recede and carry to a light, refreshing cherry-fruited finish. This is a youthfully fresh and lively Pinot Noir with red cherry fruit flavours and subtle notes of herbs on a light, grainy palate. Match with antipasto, tapas, and firm-fleshed fish over the next 3 years. Fruit from the Southern Valleys fermented to 13.5% alc., 80% of the wine aged in barrel and 20% tank aged with oak contact, for 11 months, with 20% new oak. 16.5/20 Feb 2017 RRP On-premise only
