Soho ‘Betty’ Marlborough Riesling Lower Alcohol 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Oct-2015
Labelled as ‘New Zealand’s 1st lady of wine’ and inspired by the elegance of Betty Ford, the 1st lady of the United States. Fruit from the ‘Jomara’ vineyard cool-fermented to 9.4% alc., 44 g/L RS, TA 10.g/L and pH 2.64. Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. This has a very fresh, bright, aromatic nose of limes and lemons, exotic white florals, hints of honeysuckle, along with mouthwatering nuances of flint and minerals. This has a tight, penetrating core of aromatics. Medium-sweet to taste and light-bodied, this is very elegant in presentation with flavours of lime fruit, honeysuckle and white florals, The fruit sweetness is balanced and enlivened by soft acidity and very fine textures which lend a suggestion of unctuousness. The wine follows a fresh, lacy line to a very long finish that blossoms with lime, lemon and floral aromatics. This is an elegant, lively, well-balanced medium-sweet Riesling that blossoms with its lime and lemon fruitiness. Serve as an aperitif and with mildly spicy Asian fare over the next 4-5 years. 18.5-/20 Oct 2015 RRP $24.00
