Snapper Rock Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 06-Sep-2016
Bright, very pale straw yellow, near colourless on the rim. This has an elegant and slender nose with tightly bound aromas of passionfruit and gooseberries along with soft notes of fresh herbs and minerals. The aromatics show moderate concentration and depth, unfolding white florals in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, tight flavours of gooseberries and passionfruit sit at the core, revealing some juiciness. The fruit is enlivened by brisk acidity, lending a slippery mouthfeel. A fine underlying phenolic line carries the flavours to a dry, thirst-quenching finish. This is a crisp, tightly bound, thirst-quenching Sauvignon Blanc with a fine-textured line. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 2 years. 100% Wairau fruit, 68% from Allan Scott’s ‘Omaka Block’ and 32% from ‘Block J’, cool-fermented in tank to 13.1% alc. and 2.74 g/L RS. 16.0/20 Sep 2016 RRP $16.99
