Smith & Sheth CRU Wairau Sauvignon Blanc 2023, Marlborough

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Apr-2024
Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is gentle and fresh, with aromas of green herbs, tropical fruit, citrus, tomato vines and white spice. Medium-bodied, aromas of guava and passionfruit entwined with lemon verbena, tomato vines and a touch of white pepper. The fruit is harmonious, gently integrated with crisp acidity, and flows with stony minerals to a sustained finish. Match with snapper crudo and steamed clams over the next 3 years. A combination of hand and machine-picked fruit, fermented in stainless steel to 13% alc, and small portions fermented in oak fuders. The wines were left for 3 months on full lees after blending. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Apr 2024 RRP $30
