Review Date : 01-Sep-2023
Bright, even, pale yellow with some depth. The nose is elegantly presented with layers of stonefruit, citrus, delicate spice, sweet vanilla and custard. Full-bodied, aromas of peach and nectarine melded with lemon, prickly spice, vanilla custard and pastry. The fruit is sweet with lovely depth, accompanied by a creamy flow, unfolding delicate spice and elevating a poised, long finish. This Chardonnay possesses power and harmoniously assembled fruit and sweet spice details on a creamy mouthfeel. Match with roasted guinea fowl and grilled crayfish over the next 7+ years. Handpicked fruit from Howell vineyard in Bridge Pa, whole bunch pressed, fermented in a blend of new and aged French oak barriques, 83% new oak, 100% indigenous fermentation and MLF, aged on lees with a small amount of lees stirring during the 11 months.
