Chardonnay from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 10-May-2022
Bright, deep yellow, lighter on the rim. The nose is full and complex, with aromas of citrus, stonefruit interweave spice and caramel, underlying cereal and burnt butter. Full-bodied, aromas of peach and lemon show concentration, lemon peels followed, spice, and a hint of cereal and nut. The fruit is supported by lively acidity; chalky phenolics contribute to the texture. Subtle development added complexity. This citrusy stonefruit flavoured Chardonnay on a chalky mouthfeel shows subtle development and concentration. Match with roasted chicken and hazelnut crusted grouper over the next 3-4 years.
