Sliding Hill Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 30-Oct-2018
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is elegant and slender with a finely concentrated core of cut-grass, nettles, fresh herbs and suggestions of passionfruit and gooseberries, green stonefruits and mouthwatering minerals. The aromatics are in the cooler spectrum. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has bright and gently luscious, sweet fruit flavours of green stonefruits with cut-grass and nettles. Nuances of passionfruit and gooseberries with fresh herbs unfold on a lively and refreshing palate, and the mouthfeel is thirst-quenching. This has weight and depth, and the wine flows along a light-textured line with fresh acidity, leading to a moderately long finish. A little slender on the nose, this is a bright and lush Sauvignon Blanc with cool-spectrum notes on a lively palate with good weight. Serve with salads and vegetables, and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Marlborough fruit fermented in stainless-steel with 5% in barrel to 13.0% alc. and 2.8 g/L RS, the wine given lees contact. 17.0/20 Oct 2018 RRP $TBA
