Sliding Hill Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Sep-2017
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, near colourless. The nose is softly full with gently packed pungent aromas of passionfruit entwined with gooseberry fruit and fresh herbs, along with hints of snow peas and cut grass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has good intensity of penetrating flavours of passionfruit with subtle notes of tropical fruit, gooseberries and fresh herbs. The fruit forms a fine, concentrated core and flows along a fine-textured line with fresh, lacy acidity providing drive and energy. The wine carries to an elegant, lingering finish of passionfruit and fresh herbs. This is a well-concentrated and deep fruited Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit and gooseberry flavours on a fine palate with fresh acidity. Match with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Southern Valleys fruit fermented with 3% in barrel to 13.0% alc. and 2.5 g/L RS, and approx. half the wine aged 3-4 weeks on lees. 17.5+/20 Sep 2017 RRP $22.95
