Sliding Hill Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 17-Sep-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. This has a moderately deep and punchy nose of fresh, ripe gooseberries, revealing pungent passionfruit and mouthwatering herbal aromas, with piquant minerally notes. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, up-front, luscious and juicy flavours of gooseberries and passionfruits intermingle with herbs, capsicums and tropical fruits. The palate is balanced by a fine, textural line and enlivened by bright, zesty acidity, with an aromatic lift. This has good energy and drive, carrying the wine to a soft, dry, lingering finish, with pungent nuances. This is a juicy, up-front, punchy Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit and gooseberry flavours and good palate balance. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Auntsfield’ vineyard, cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. 17.5/20 Aug 2014 RRP $16.99
