Sliding Hill Marlborough Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 06-Sep-2018
Dark, deep ruby-red colour with near-black hues at the heart, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is full and up-front with solidly packed aromas of dark-re berry fruit along with dark plum notes and a subtle amalgam of spices and herbs. The aromatics are deep and fulsome. Medium-full bodied, the palate is sweet, plush and juicy with flavours of dark-red berryfruit and plums. The fruit is lifted by soft red florals and notes of herbs, spice and earth add detail. The flavours are mouthfilling and supported by light, grainy tannin structure providing good balance and grip, with integrated acidity. The flavours flow to a positive, deep finish with good length. This is a fulsome, plush and sweet fruited Pinot Noir with dark-red berry and plum fruit, and balanced structure and grip. Match with roasted lamb, beef and venison over the next 5+ years. Hand-picked and hand-sorted fruit, destemmed and fermented, partially with indigenous yeasts to 14.0% alc. the wine aged approx. 10 months in French oak barriques. 18.0/20 Sep 2018 RRP $TBA
