Sliding Hill Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Jul-2016
Deep ruby-red colour with a dark heart and purple hues, lighter on edge. This has a full and deep nose with aromas of ripe, dark-red and blackberry fruit melded with red plum and dark herbal nuances, unfolding nutty notes, liquorice and minerals. The aromatics are robust and have density. Medium-full bodied, full and robustly deep flavours of ripe dark-red and black fruits intermingle with plum, dark herb, liquorice and iron-earth mineral elements. The fruit is rich and sweet, but balanced by grainy tannin extraction providing structure and grip, and integrated acidity in support. The flavours carry with good energy to a strong and positive finish of ripe, black-red fruits, driven by some alcohol power. This is a full and robust Pinot Noir with dark-red and black fruits and a structured palate. Serve with roast lamb, beef and game meat dishes over the next 5-6 years. Hand-picked and hand-sorted fruit, destemmed and fermented partially with indigenous yeasts to 14.0% alc., the wine aged approx. 10 months in French oak barriques. 17.5/20 Jul 2016 RRP $29.99
