Sliding Hill Marlborough Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Jul-2016
Moderately deep, dark ruby-red colour, lighter on the rim. The bouquet is gently concentrated and aromatic with soft red berry fruits and red florals lifted by some volatile nuances. The nose builds to show a core of black-berried fruits and dark herbs at the heart. Medium-full bodied, the palate is well-proportioned with flavours of fragrant dark-red berry fruited lifted with dark-red and violet florals. An ethereal layer of dark herbs adds to the interest. The mouthfeel is fine-textured with supple, flowery tannins, and the acidity balanced and integrated. The wine carries to an elegant, light, lingering, dry finish with red floral aromatics. This is a fragrant and lifted Pinot Noir with fine-grained tannin structure. Match with poultry and pork dishes over the next 4-5 years. Hand-picked and hand-sorted fruit, destemmed and fermented partially with indigenous yeasts to 14.0% alc., the wine aged approx. 10 months in French oak barriques. 17.0/20 Jul 2016 RRP $29.99
