Sister’s Run ‘Epiphany’ McLaren Vale Shiraz 2015

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 02-May-2017
Full, very dark, black-red colour with slight purple hues, lighter on the rim. This has an elegantly concentrated nose with firm and intense aromas of blackberry fruit along with nutty oak, suggestions of black pepper and a little minerally reduction providing interest and detail. Full-bodied, the palate has powerfully intense and deep, rich flavours of ripe blackberries along with liquorice, nutty oak, black pepper and complexing reductive nuances. The fruit is supported by fine-grained tannin extraction and the acidity is integrated. The wine flows with energy and linearity, leading to a fine, firmly concentrated, elegantly proportioned finish of black fruits, liquorice and minerals. This is a powerfully driven Shiraz with black fruits, liquorice, pepper and subtle reductive mineral detail on a fine-grained, firm palate. Match with roast lamb, beef and venison, and semi hard cheeses over the next 6-8 years. Shiraz from Anthony John Parkinson’s ‘Epiphany’ vineyard, McLaren Vale, fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged in oak. 4,126 dozen made. 18.0-/20 May 2017 RRP $25.00
