Silver Fern Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 30-Nov-2017
Bright pale straw colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh with vibrant aromas of passionfruit, gooseberries, white florals and herbs, along with cut grass notes and subtle mineral hints. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has up-front, but firmly concentrated flavours of passionfruit, gooseberries, cut grass and nettles. The fruit has depth and intensity, and the mouthfeel possesses crisp acid cut. The wine flows with good energy along a fine-textured line with delicate phenolics, leading to a lingering brisk finish. This is a fresh, zesty, intensely fruited Sauvignon Blanc with cooler spectrum notes on a crisp palate with cut and a tight, fine line. Match with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Seaview’, ‘Brackenfield’ and ‘Willowflat’ vineyards in the Awatere Valley, cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 3.8 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Dec 2017 RRP $17.95
