Silver Fern Marlborough Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 30-Nov-2017
Even, dark ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh with bright aromas of red cherry and berry fruit entwined with fresh herbal notes. The fruit is up-front, uncomplicated, unfolding subtle minerally reduction elements. Medium-bodied, the palate has bright and vibrant fruit flavours of dark-red cherries enlivened by fresh herbal notes. Nuances of raspberries unfold with a little nutty and mineral detail. The palate has piquant and intense flavours, and the fruit is supported by light tannin grip and balanced acidity. The wine carries to a lingering finish of cherry fruit and herbs. This is a bright and vibrant Pinot Noir with good intensity of red cherries and fresh herbs, on a lively palate with light structure. Match with antipasto and tapas over the next 2-3 years. Marlborough fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged with French oak. 16.5/20 Dec 2017 RRP $21.95
