Silhouette Central Otago Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 27-Nov-2015
Dark, deep ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, lighter on rim and youthful in appearance. This has fresh, bright aromas of ripe dark red berry and black cherry fruit along with subtle layers of raspberries and liquorice. The aromatics are light and fruit focussed, but build in depth and intensity in the glass. Medium-bodied, soft and gently luscious, up-front flavours of red berryfruit and cherries are enriched with notes of raspberries. Some thyme herb detail unfolds adding interest. This has a soft mouthfeel, the fruit sweetness balanced by supple and easy tannins and light, refreshing acidity. The palate has moderate concentration and length, carrying to a soft, dry, easy finish. This is a gently rich and sweet-fruited Pinot Noir with cherry and raspberry fruit and a supple, but fresh mouthfeel. Match with firm-fleshed seafood, pasta and poultry over the next 2-3 years. Alexandra fruit fermented to 13.3% alc., the wine aged 9 months in 10% new oak. 16.5+/20 Nov 2015 RRP $25.95
