Sileni Estates ‘Ridge’ Hawke’s Bay Pinot Noir Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 28-Aug-2016
Bright, pale salmon-pink colour with slight purple hues, pale edged. The nose is soft and voluminous with fresh aromas of strawberry fruit entwined harmoniously with lifted red florals and a layer of confectionary. The aromatics build in depth with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, flavours of strawberries, red florals and confectionary form a rounded and deep hearted palate. The mouthfeel is enlivened by crisp, refreshing acidity and the wine flows along a very fine-textured line with energy and drive. The wine carries to an elegantly concentrated, rounded and lingering finish of strawberries and confectionary. This is a softly concentrated dry rosé with lifted strawberry and fruit pastille flavours underlined by fresh acidity and fine, dry textures. Serve as an aperitif and with canapes or tapas over the next 2 years. Pinot Noir fruit from Mangatahi and Te Awanga, the wine made as a saignee of Pinot Noir, cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 3.6 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 Aug 2016 RRP $24.99
