Sileni Estates ‘Cellar Selection’ Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2015

Syrah from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 24-Jun-2016
Full, dark, black-hued ruby-red colour with light purple on the rim. The nose is softly presented with finely proportioned aromas of blackberry fruits entwined with black and white pepper, liquorice, and subtle notes of herbs, black and violet florals and spices. Light-medium bodied, fresh and juicy flavours of blackberries, black and white pepper, florals and herbs feature on the palate. The mouthfeel is soft and supple with light tannin extraction and integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is harmonious and flows smoothly to a plush, juicy and easy finish of lingering black fruits, pepper and spices. This is a soft, juicy, easy Syrah with flavours of black fruits, black and white pepper, herbs, on a supple palate. Match with Asian and middle Eastern fare over the next 2-3 years. Syrah fruit from the Bridge Pa Triangle, destemmed and fermented to 12.5% alc., a small portion of the wine given oak contact. 16.5-/20 Jun 2016 RRP $19.99
