Sileni Estates ‘Cellar Selection’ Hawke’s Bay’ Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 06-Sep-2011
Fruit sourced from a selection of Hawke's Bay sites, partially barrel-fermented in French barriques to 13.5% alc., aged on lees and undergoing partial MLF. Pale straw-yellow colour with a youthful, pale edge, this has a fresh, clean, light nose of yellow stonefruits along with notes of tropical fruits and melons and aromatic oak lift. Dry to taste, this has restrained grapefruity flavours along with notes of nougat and nuts on the palate, with an attractive sweetness accentuated by the fresh acidity. There is good weight to the body and there is a sustained, dry finish with lifted citrus fruit flavours. A wine with a good core of fruit with sweetness, but stylishly restrained. Drink with seafood and poultry dishes over the next 2-3+ years. 16.5+/20 Sep 2011 RRP $20.00
