Sileni Estates ‘Cellar Selection’ Hawke’s Bay Cabernet Franc Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 12-Jun-2016
Moderately deep strawberry-pink colour with lighter peach hues on the rim. The nose is softly fresh with well-concentrated aromas of strawberries, redcurrants and pomegranate along with notes of fresh herbs and some confectionary lift. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is bright and lively with fresh, up-front flavours of strawberries, redcurrants and pomegranate that form a positive core. The fruit has a floral and confectionary lift and is enlivened by fresh acidity. The palate has a degree of richness and rounded presence, and follows a line of fine-textured phenolics, leading to a lingering, dry finish of red fruits and currants. This is a fresh rosé with lively redcurrant and pomegranate fruit, lifted by confectionary notes on a rounded palate, finishing dry. Serve as an aperitif, with tapas and antipasto over the next 18 months to 2 years. A blend of 85% Cabernet Franc, 13% Merlot and 2% Pinot Noir, 60% from Bridge Pa Triangle and 40% from the Dartmoor Valley, directly pressed and fermented to 13.5% alc. and 4.68 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Jun 2016 RRP $19.99
