Sileni Estates ‘Cape’ Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 06-Jun-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, light on rim. The nose is softly fresh with harmoniously interwoven and subtle aromatics of tropical fruit notes with green stonefruits, sweet herbs and white florals, forming a fine, tight, delicately detailed core. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses soft and gently rich, harmoniously entwined flavours of aromatic tropical fruit, green stonefruits, herbs and white florals, unfolding mineral elements. The palate is fresh, piquant and poised with enlivening acidity and the wine’s aromatic presence follows a very fine-textured line. The wine has a soft, dry, lingering finish of green stonefruits, herbs and florals. This is a gentle and detailed, harmonious, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc with freshness and soft textures. Serve with salads and vegetables, seafood and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Mangatahi district, hand-picked and WBP, and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 2.9 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 18.0-/20 Jun 2016 RRP $24.99
