Shot In The Dark South Eastern Australia Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz 2012

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - Other
Review Date : 30-Oct-2013
Very dark, saturated black-red colour with youthful purple hues. The nose is very full with ripe black plum and boysenberry fruit aromas along with chocolate and jam, harmoniously integrated with soft, spicy oak, revealing liquorice. Medium-full bodied, lusciously rich and ripe flavours of ripe black plums, liquorice and jam meld with pepper, boysenberry and spicy oak notes. The fruit is underlined by fine-grained tannins, and the palate runs to a dense, plush core and line. The wine is well-integrated and the mouthfeel mellow and rounded with soft acidity, allowing the flavours to blossom on the long, lingering finish. This is a rich and near decadently sweet, black fruited and jammy Shiraz with a fine tannin backbone, that blossoms. Match with roasted red meat dishes and Middle Eastern fare over the next 5-6+ years. 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Shiraz, fermented to 13.8% alc., the wine undergoing oak aging. 18.5-/20 Oct 2013 RRP $17.99
