Sherwood Estate ‘Stoney Range’ Waipara Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 08-Jul-2018
Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless on the rim. The nose is full and solid in presentation with pungent aromas of passionfruit with reductive sulphide mineral elements harmoniously melded with fresh herbs, green stonefruits and gooseberries, unfolding white floral elements. This is densely packed. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has rich and sweetly vibrant fruit flavours of passionfruit and green stonefruit with reductive minerals forming a tight and dense core. The palate flows along a slippery line with fine textures and lacy acidity providing good energy and drive. The wine carries to a lingering, elegant finish. This is a fulsome and rich, vibrant Sauvignon Blanc packed with passionfruit and mineral flavours on a slippery palate. Match with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the ‘Stirling’, ‘Church Road’ and ‘Georges Road’ vineyards. cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 4.3 g/L RS, the wine aged 2 months on lees. 18.0-/20 Jul 2018 RRP $16.99
