Sherwood Estate ‘Stoney Range’ Waipara Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 05-Sep-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with green hues, a little lighter on edge. The nose is tightly bound and slender in presentation with fresh and penetrating aromas of gooseberries, cut grass, nettles and thirst-quenching herb and mineral nuances. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is gentle with up-front aromatic fruit flavours of gooseberries, white florals, fresh herbs, along with nettles and snow peas. The mouthfeel is dry and fine-textured, and follows a light phenolic-textured line with crisp, mouthwatering acidity lending soft tension and energy. The wine leads to an uncomplicated, dry finish with gooseberry and grassy notes. This is a gentle, up-front Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry, cut grass and nettly flavours and a mouthwatering, dry palate. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Waipara Valley fruit cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 1.54 g/L RS, the wine aged 2 months on lees. 16.5+/20 Sep 2016 RRP $16.99
