Sherwood Estate ‘Stoney Range’ South Australia Shiraz 2015

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 05-Sep-2016
Even ruby-red colour, lighter on the rim. The nose is soft, light and up-front with uncomplicated aromas of raspberry fruit along with subtle nuances of eucalypt with spice and pepper notes unfolding in the glass. Medium-bodied, the fruit is soft, juicy and sweet, with up-front accessible flavours of red berry fruits entwined with jam, eucalypt and soft herbal and peppery detail. The mouthfeel is rounded and gently textured from modest extraction, lending a dry line. The wine carries to a lingering, textured finish with red berry, pepper and eucalypt flavours. This is an up-front, easy, juicy Shiraz with raspberry, jam and eucalypt fruit and soft, dry tannins. Serve with barbecued food, pasta and pizza over the next 2-3 years. Shiraz fruit from the Riverland district, fermented to 14.2% alc., the wine aged in French oak barriques. 16.0-/20 Sep 2016 RRP $16.99
