Sherwood Estate ‘Sherwood’ Waipara Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 08-Jul-2018
Brilliant pale straw colour with slight green hues, lighter edged. The nose is fragrant with well-concentrated aromas of passionfruit along with white florals and a layering of reductive sulphide minerals with green stonefruits and fresh herbs. This has very good intensity, aromatic detail and vitality. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is bright, vibrant and refreshing with flavours of passionfruit, subtle reductive sulphide minerals, green stonefruits, snow peas and fresh herbs. The palate has vibrancy and a fine proportion and building intensity, with brisk acidity, carrying the wine to a long, lingering finish. This is a vibrant, bright and lively Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit, floral, mineral and stonefruit flavours in a fine, elegant palate with racy acidity. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2+ years. A selection of premium fruit from the ‘Stirling’, ‘Georges Road’ and ‘Church Road’ vineyards, cool-fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 2 months on lees. 18.5/20 Jul 2018 RRP $20.99
