Sherwood Estate ‘Sherwood’ Waipara Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 24-Jul-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour, lighter on the rim. This has a softly full and even nose with gentle aromas of gooseberry fruit with soft notes of fresh herbs and cut grass in the cooler spectrum, along with nuances of minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses gently sweet flavours of gooseberries along with notes of tropical fruits, herbs, some nettle and cut grass elements and chalky minerals. The mouthfeel is soft with gentle acidity and the wine follow a light, phenolic, textual line and carries to a soft, gently luscious finish of gooseberries. This is a soft, light sweet gooseberry fruited Sauvignon Blanc with cut grass and mineral elements and a soft-textured line. Serve with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Stirling’ and ‘Church Road’ vineyards, cool-fermented to 14.0% alc. and 1.5 g/L RS, the wine aged two months on lees. 16.5/20 Jul 2016 RRP $18.99
