Moderately deep, dark ruby-red colour with light purple hues, lighter on rim. The nose is fresh and bright with up-front, softly concentrated, ripe, uncomplicated primary fruit aromas of raspberries and red liquorice, along with whole berry fermentation fruit pastille notes. Medium-bodied, the palate features lusciously juicy raspberry, red liquorice and red berry confectionary flavours, lifted by red floral elements. The fruit is supported by light, supple tannin extraction and balanced acidity, lend a soft, rounded mouthfeel. The succulent fruit follows a soft and fine-textured line leading to a plush, sweet-fruited lingering finish. This is a plush, up-front, sweet raspberry-fruited Pinot Noir with a supple, accessible mouthfeel. Match with duck, pork and most Asian fare over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from the ‘Terraces’, ‘Georges Road’, ‘Church Road’, ‘Glasnevin’ and ‘Stirling’ vineyards, given a cold soak and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine spending 19 days on skins and aged 9 months in oak barrel. 17.5-/20 Jun 2015 RRP $21.99
