Shelter Bay Marlborough Chardonnay 2011

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 01-Oct-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour with slight lemon-gold hues. The nose is tight and slender with moderately intense aromas of citrus fruits and steely minerals alongside butterscotch MLF elements. Dry to taste and light-bodied, chalky citrus fruit flavours are entwined with butterscotch and nutty notes. The mouthfeel is dry and lightly textured and the palate has good linearity. Crisp acidity underlines the fruit which is carried to a subtly luscious and lively, nutty finish with some length. This is a light, dry-textured Chardonnay with citrus, butterscotch and nutty flavours to serve with seafood, poultry and pasta over the next 2+ years. Two picks of clone 95 fruit, WBP and fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged on lees with a portion in French oak barriques. 15.5/20 Oct 2013 RRP $19.95
