Seresin ‘Reserve’ Marlborough Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Jun-2013
Mendoza, clone 15 and 95 from the ‘Raupo Creek’ and ‘Home’ vineyards, hand-picked, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented in barrel to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 25% new French oak, the wine undergoing MLF. Bright straw yellow with some golden hues. This has a very full, broad and densely packed nose, powerful in expression. Bold and up-front with layers of rioe stonefruits and masses of gunflint and savoury mineral complexities, along with smoke and nuts. Full-bodied, this is mouthfilling, rich and weighty. High solids and lees complexities meld with rich and succulent stonefruit flavours. The mouthfeel is lush and juicy, but with a fine drying textured line, and the acidity in the background, finishing with moderate length. This is a fulsome, rich and weighty Chardonnay with immense complexities. Match with very hearty white meat dishes over the next 5-6 years. 19.0-/20 Jun 2013 RRP $41.99
